To ensure that programs are in place for the well-being, care, compensation and commemoration of serving and ex-service Defence Force members and their dependants; and promote Government and community awareness of the need for a secure and progressive Australia.
The Mudjimba RSL Women's Auxiliary was formed in 1982. There were 25 foundation members and 2 of these are still members, Margaret McKay and Pam Stevens.
During the past 18 years we have had 5 Lady Patrons, our current Patron, Betty Copley has held this position since 2005. There are ladies awarded Life Membership Gold Badge, 6 in total. Our current Secretary was awarded an OAM in 2009.
Our main event for the year is Veteran Day with Veterans from Sunnybank, Caboolture and Caloundra attending. All visitors enjoy our hospitality, friendship and time to catch up with old friends. The Auxiliary treat these days as special occasions.
Fundraising consists of Cent Auctions Bingo/Hoy and raffles. Social days are held every few months as a thank you to our hard working ladies. Several of the ladies help with raffles to raise funds for Welfare on Sunday afternoons.
As well as the usual selling of badges for ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day our ladies also assist the RSL at the club on these days.
Our members aim to work hard, enjoy the events we plan, enjoy each others company and to be on hand to help anyone who needs our help.
We are always looking for more women to join the Auxiliary.
